How Roblox DevEx works
DevEx is how creators turn eligible Earned Robux into real money. Here's the rate, the threshold, and what qualifies.
What DevEx is
The Developer Exchange (DevEx) is Roblox's program for cashing out. Eligible creators exchange their eligible Earned Robux for USD at a fixed rate. It is completely separate from the marketplace fee. DevEx is about leaving the Robux economy for real currency, not about a sale inside it.
The rates
Each eligible Earned Robux converts to a fixed fraction of a dollar:
- Standard rate: $0.0038 per Robux; 10,000 Robux ≈ $38.00.
- Eligible U.S. 18+ rate: $0.0054 per Robux for qualifying creators; 10,000 Robux ≈ $54.00.
- Legacy rate: $0.0035 per Robux, used before September 5, 2025.
The DevEx Calculator lets you switch between these and a custom rate.
The minimum threshold
You generally need at least 30,000 eligible Earned Robux to submit a DevEx request. The calculator shows a progress bar toward this minimum so you can see how close you are.
What counts as eligible
Only eligible Earned Robux qualify: Robux you earned through the platform, subject to Roblox's rules, not Robux you or others purchased. The distinction matters a lot; it's covered in earned Robux vs. purchased Robux.
What a payout estimate really means
A calculator result is an estimate of gross value. Meeting the threshold does not guarantee acceptance: Roblox reviews each request against its program requirements. The final amount you keep also depends on any taxes or fees you may owe in your country. Treat the number as a planning figure, not a promise.
